Blending Photos in Photoshop

Open the photo you would like to blend into a solid color.
Remember, you can change the background color to whatever color you would like the photo to blend in to. For this exercise, I’m using white.

While on the layer that holds the photo, click on the layer mask icon on the layers box.

Select the Gradient tool in the toolbox menu.
Make sure that the black to white gradient pattern is selected.

Using the Gradient tool, click and drag the cursor from one side to the other, and release.
Tips on this step:
- If the blend is reversed, reverse the colors in the Gradient pattern chooser.
- If you want an evenly blended difference, hold down the Shift key to create a straight line.
